What employers actually see
Your public profile card is designed to be employer-readable in thirty seconds — and honest to the pixel. Here is every element on it.
The profile card
- Career Profile Score — your 0–1000 score, always shown with the disclaimer that unverified skills are self-reported.
- XP total + peer rank — e.g. "top 12% of 2025 CS grads on the platform". Signals real, logged effort.
- Verified vs self-reported skills — clearly separated lists; the verified mark only appears on proven skills.
- Growth velocity — XP earned in the last 30 days. An employer can see at a glance that you're actively learning right now.
- Role-fit score — when an employer views you against a specific job, an AI match compares their job description with your verified skills.
What employers don't see
- Your coach conversations with Vanilla — always private.
- Your course progress details, notes, or assessment attempts (only earned badges show).
- Your contact details, unless you share them in an application.
- Anything at all, if you set your profile to private.
Controlling visibility
Under Settings → Privacy you can toggle the public card on or off and control whether you appear in employer search. Applying to a job always shares your card with that employer, since that's the point of applying.
Why this converts to interviews
